St. Luke's UMM breakfast is this Sunday, September 16 in the Fellowship Hall at 7:30 a.m.  

  Please make a special effort to invite at least one person to join us and help ensure a large crowd to enjoy the food, fellowship and worship at our first fall meeting.  The volunteers are:

The St. Luke United Methodist Men host a breakfast meeting in the St. Luke fellowship hall every 2nd Sunday in the month at 7:30 pm.  All men of St. Luke (young and old) and interested guests are cordually invited.

Jim Ramsay visits UMM - October 8, 2006
 
Jim Ramsay, Director of Field Ministries at "The Mission Society", shared breakfast with the UMM and provided the program.  Jim, whose family recently completed nearly 10 years of mission work in Kazakhstan, talked about the freedoms our culture often takes for granted.  He related a story of a dear friend who is a pastor in Uzbekistan, and the pain and suffering he endured for his faith.  The devotional was given by Ed Yarborough.  Attending were 21 members and 3 guests.
A Visit to the Holy Land  (part 2) - March 12, 2006
 
Following an opening devotional by Ralph James, Don Gaskins concluded his discussion of visiting the Holy Land that he began with the February meeting.  The meeting was very well-attended with about 25 members and two guests present.  .

Following breakfast, James Crowe gave the opening devotional, and UMM President Fred Lynn provided the members with updates and prayer concerns of family and friends.  The program was presented by Don Gaskins, who had recently traveled to the Holy Land.  In his program he recounted his travels and experiences, using the map shown in the picture at left.  The meeting was well-attended with 22 members present.
What is the meaning of our "Christmons" - December 11, 2005
 
In the last Methodist Men's meeting of the year, outgoing president Bobby McGee thanked everyone for their support and assistance, and officially installed Fred Lynn as the new president.  For the main program, Gerry Caffee (picture at left) detailed what the meaning of Christmons ("Christ Monograms") were, and described the shape and history of the Christian symbols that adorn our santuary Christmas tree.
 
Honoring our Veterans - November 13, 2005 

In rememberance of Veteran's day, Ed Yarborough presented a program highlighting the history of the Hartsville National Guard.   From the time of it's creation in the early 1900's, Ed spoke of the service and committment of our Guardsmen, including those that were members or family of members of St. Luke.
